Here at Torrch we update websites once a month. Running regular updates is an important part of keeping a website running smoothly and keeping information secure. Since we build our websites on WordPress, there are a lot of things that need updating such as WordPress core, themes, and plugins.
After we run updates on a website we comb through the pages and look for any new errors that could have been introduced with the updates. These are usually things like missing images, changes in text formatting, spacing or page layout changes, on-page errors, etc.
For clients that are paying for support, if we spot anything that looks out of place our team of developers will go in and make the necessary adjustments. This generally only takes a few min and happens once a month.
For clients that are not paying for support, if we spot anything that looks out of place we will notify the client and let them know what has happened. If the client would like to pay for the support needed to fix the new issue our team will move forward and address the situation.
While we do spend time looking over the website, you may know the website better than we do and can bring a fresh pair of eyes to the situation. We recommend that all clients flip through the website from time to time to see if anything is out of place. Errors can potentially be introduced and overlooked during updates or other external situations such as browser updates. 3rd party platform changes can cause things to display differently on the website as well. If we both keep an eye on things we can work together to keep the website as consistent as possible!
If you see anything that looks out of place you can always report it to us by emailing help@torrch.com.
